Heading to Scotland?

First of all, we’re jealous! Secondly, we want to help you prepare and pack correctly.

The Scottish weather can be unpredictable. You can sometimes experience four seasons in one day. So the key is layer, layer, layer. 

Here are some must haves: 

• Passport (be sure it won’t expire within 6 months of your travel date)
• Credit card (alert the credit card company you’ll be traveling to avoid fraudulent holds)
• Mobile device chargers
• Portable mobile chargers (for on-the-go charging on those long days of sightseeing)
• Universal Travel Adaptors
• Headphones
• Good reading material
• Download Google Maps of Scotland for offline access
• Umbrella
• Waterproof jacket or a trench coat
• Hoodie
• Wool socks
• Hats
• Gloves
• Comfortable, waterproof shoes or boots
• Sunglasses
• Scarf
• Midnight Sleep Supplement for the long plane ride and adjusting to your new timezone

Kilt etiquette: Scots do not wear kilts outside of wedding ceremonies, a Stag Do (bachelor party), or sporting events. So we recommend steering clear of trying to wear one as a kitschy costume. 

Forget something? Head to Glasgow’s Golden Z – the largest retail area in Scotland. Need something while you’re in Edinburgh? Hit the shops of Princes Street! And John Lewis is a popular department store found in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, where you should be able to find any essentials you’re hunting.
